Vault Call to Artist

Call To Artists

The Vault

Exhibition Space: 31’ x 17’ (527 Sq Ft)

We are looking for high quality, innovative exhibits which exemplify Artel’s mission of bringing experimental, contemporary artwork to the community. Artel’s logo includes the phrase art with an edge; exhibitions in The Vault should push the limits of this tag line and bring a vision that is truly bold, provocative, and/or unconventional. We are looking for high quality exhibitions with professional execution and presentation. Commercial viability of the work is not a requisite for consideration. Submissions will be considered on a case by case basis

Proposal Forms are available at Artel Gallery, www.artelgallery.org or by email request.  It is highly recommended that you visit the space before submitting your proposal.

Criteria and Guidelines for Proposals:

  • Artists may submit one proposal for one non-refundable application fee of $45.
  • Works will be judged on criteria including overall artistic quality, competency of execution, strength of cohesive vision, and innovation.
  • Works are not limited to any medium. While traditional artistic media are certainly welcome, we encourage experimentation with those media and exploration of digital, film/video, and multimedia presentations.
  • Installation works are highly encouraged and desired.
  • Individual and collaborative exhibitions are welcomed and encouraged. Regarding collaborative submissions, we are not looking for individual works presented in a group exhibit. We are looking for active collaborative effort in creating a cohesive artistic vision by two or more artists.
  • Work should be recent and not previously exhibited at Artel.

A formal proposal request form with required attachments must be submitted to Artel.  Proposals will be considered on a case by case basis to determine the acceptability for exhibition in The Vault  space.  Additional information may be requested before final determination.  Additional fees associated with promotion and execution of exhibitions may be required.
